"I’m excited to share with you a new Smooth Jazz ensemble deserving of your immediate attention, and one that has added instant energy to this genre of music. CROSSING BORDERS – A totally engaging, top-drawer journey into a variety of contemporary jazz textures, spiced with Latin and infused with rock. You’ll hear nine outstanding Jeffrey/Cardoso originals that are, to use a baseball analogy, high heat with a couple of delightful change-ups (“View from My Window” and the brand new single, appropriately titled “Changes”) perfectly positioned in the album’s song order. The synergy on CROSSING BORDERS is brilliant and serves up a totally feel-good set of Smooth Jazz with a high-powered kick. I highly recommend the debut from East of West… the perfect album to welcome us into the joyful days of summer!"

"By definition, "jazz" is an amalgamation of sounds and rhythms, characterized by improvisation and syncopation. This description becomes vividly animated on the debut CD from East Of West, CROSSING BORDERS. The collection opens with the title track, a rollicking and exuberant musical celebration. When you need a shot of adrenaline to keep going, East Of West offers up the perfect solution with "Second Wind." "View From My Window" makes you want to open up that casement and experience the scene for yourself. When long time friends join for a reunion it is always a pleasurable experience. In this case, we get to share in the delight."

" Lovely music, very enjoyable. Crossing Borders has great music. I enjoyed listening to the MP3 files, but buying it is so much better. I can listen to it several times and listen to it over and over again and the music stays enjoyable."

"On behalf of the alumni association and the Carrol Center, I would like to
thank East of West for your extraordinary performance. This was the most
successful and enjoyable event we've had to date. Your music appeared to
cast a spell of joy and happiness on all of us in the audience."

"Jazzy rock with many iPod-worthy tracks! Crossing Borders' tracks are bass-driven without being bass-heavy.There's more complexity than you will find in most of today's easy-listening Smooth Jazz music, with beat change-ups and creative chord choices, yet the effect is uplifting and appealing. Each track is distinct and there's good interplay between bass, keyboard, and sax. Crossing Borders is definitely worth buying and then downloading to your iPod for good musical company while you exercise, do daily chores, or dance around your living room in your socks."

"Crossing Borders and East of West is uplifting and is great to play in my new car. It is very positive music and I really like the syncopation and atypical rythms.
Thanks for enriching my life with your music, I treasure it."

"Sweet licks from smooth Jazz pros. I am a huge Rick Braun fan. If you like Rick Braun, you'll love Crossing Borders from Steve Jeffrey and John Cardoso. Order some as stocking stuffers for those Jazz fans in your life. You won't be disappointed!

"MP3.com featured their songs for downloading, which I did. I continue to enjoy their music months after the download and now I want to support the artists'
music with a purchase of Crossing Borders. They are a mainstay on my mp3 player."
